The week begins with emotional intensity, courtesy of the Scorpio Moon. The friendly, possibly romantic, the energy of Libra which was so pleasant over the weekend shifted to the earnestness of Scorpio while you slept. Emotional depth and a desire for privacy are a few of the hallmarks of this Fixed Water sign. Remember this as you interact with others and move through the next few days.
 
Don’t shy away from hidden or powerful mysteries, it may be time to find what is beneath the surface. When the Moon is in Scorpio we are ready to dig deep to find hidden truths even if they are frightening or dangerous.

Today’s Scorpio Moon is very active as she leads us to the Third Quarter Moon phase tomorrow.
 
We know that when the Moon is in Scorpio we are bringing issues to the surface that may prefer to remain hidden. We are looking underground for treasure and depth. The light of day has to shine on what is undercover in order for healing to occur. 
 
Today is an emotionally active day, bringing a sense of restriction and struggle in the early afternoon as the Moon square Saturn. Don’t fret, let that pass and it will dissolve into a  lovely evening ahead.
 
The Moon forms a sextile aspect to Venus and Mars, followed by a trine aspect to Neptune this evening. Look for sweet, active, deep connections to those you love. Compassion and understanding flow, opening pathways of possibilities. These pathways are deep and hold profound emotional truth.

EXPANDING HORIZONS

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 8:29 AM EST, this brings us into a day with more ease and optimism than we have had thus far this week. We long to learn something new, travel, expand our horizons, and explore new vistas. We don’t want to be held back or restricted by responsibilities or expectations. This is a day when we all want to play hooky without having to explain our actions or choices. 

At 2:11 PM EST Mars forms a lovely sextile to Neptune. If there are things you want to do today, don’t try to make a clear plan. Follow your instincts, they will bring a wealth of possibilities. Your imagination and creativity long to direct the action today, allow that to be so.

At 5:52 PM EST, the Sagittarius Moon forms its Last Quarter phase to the Sun. This is a time of release, a time to let go. Before doing so you must consider the direction you will point yourself in following this release. Listen for a voice letting you know where the new direction calls you. The Sun and Moon are in a square aspect to each other, blocking each other’s path insisting that something must change in order to release tension. Pay attention to your intuition. It will show you the way.

The Moon remains in the mutable Fire sign of Sagittarius today keeping our attention on expanding our understanding of the world we live in. However, the Moon steps into the background with several significant transiting aspects occurring throughout the day.

At 11:03 AM EST Venus forms a sextile aspect to Neptune. She is currently following in Mars’s footsteps and repeating the connection he made with Neptune yesterday. This suggests a day of great sensitivity. You may find yourself finely in tune with others, communicating with hardly the need to speak. Don’t set logic aside altogether but you can trust your gut on most things. Sympathy and compassion are highlighted in all your interactions.

At 9:21 PM EST Mercury square Uranus suggests a great deal of restlessness within your thinking. This is not a time to attempt focus and concentration. You will need to find something intellectually exciting to engage your highly activated mind. It may be challenging to keep up with fast-moving innovative and unusual thoughts. Do your best to remain connected to your body to keep anxiety at bay.

Although these two transits (Venus sextile Neptune & Mercury square Uranus) are bringing very different considerations and energies into focus, watch how they exist side by side in your experience of today and tomorrow.

Once the Moon is in Capricorn our attention turns to organizing, deploying resources, and making things happen. Capricorn is the Cardinal Earth sign and the most serious sign of the zodiac. It is ruled by Saturn, the authoritative teacher within the system of astrology.
 
Today is a day to straighten up, organize, make plans, determine and work toward making those plans a reality. Don’t scatter your efforts. Make sure you are using them to move you toward a specific significant long-term goal.

When the Moon is in Aquarius we are able to see the wider view as intellectual altruistic perspectives come into view. We are more interested in understanding ourselves and others from an overview rather than a close emotional view. 
 
This is not a time for romance or deep emotion. It is a time for unusual ideas and innovations in communication.
