Venus Retrograde Continues

As January begins, Venus in Capricorn is still in retrograde motion. The Sun, Mercury, and Pluto are also in Capricorn as 2022 begins. Your focus is on the area of life represented by the house that holds this Cardinal Earth sign in your horoscope (use Whole Sign Houses).

When Venus is retrograde we are asked to consider and face our personal demons regarding our deepest values. This is a solitary path as the Capricorn goat must work alone in order to develop integrity and personal responsibility

While a planet is retrograde it is covering ground that it has already passed over. We must reevaluate and reassess our relationship to Venus’ issues of personal values, love, money, and resources.

Retrograde planets remind us that the past is still with us, informing the present, and directing the future. Retrograde cycles allow us to rewrite the story from our current perspective. It may not be an easy task but your personal values and your future relationship to love and money will greatly benefit from the effort.

Who has not been wounded in the past through Venus’ issues of love and resources?

This week we are halfway through the retrograde cycle which began on December 19th and ends on January 29th. The halfway point is marked by the conjunction of the Sun with Venus on January 8th.

The joining together of the Sun and Venus (retrograde) is a symbolic turning point. This is the time when Venus changes from being our evening star to becoming our morning star. In the months ahead you will need to rise very early to see her sparkle in the morning sky shortly before sunrise.

What have you learned regarding your values since December 19th? How are you reengaging with the story of what the past has taught you about love and money, resources and beauty? How can you rewrite past pain to accept responsibility in the present and develop true integrity in the future? The stories from our past open a rich path of learning.

GETTING BACK TO WORK

The week begins with the Moon in Capricorn offering a serious tone to the first workweek of 2022. By focusing on accomplishments you allow yourself to be supported by the ambitious Cardinal Earth sign of Capricorn.

At 11:21 AM EST, The Capricorn Moon conjuncts Pluto. Someone may challenge your authority, or you feel the need to challenge the authority of another. Do your best to sidestep this passing power dynamic. Keep your attention on necessary accomplishments and remember that Venus is retrograde. Your personal values are being renegotiated. Trust that understanding.

This is a good morning to put ideas into action and begin new solitary projects that you expect to result in future accomplishments

At 5:44 PM EST, the Moon enters Aquarius turning your focus to intellectual ideas over the next few days. Spend the evening with others to engage your intellect and humanitarian perspectives.

_The Capricorn Moon is void-of-course from 11:21 AM EST until she enters Aquarius at 5:44 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact._

BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE

The Aquarius Moon has a lot to contend with today. Do your best to avoid conversations or confrontations that you know won’t be productive.

The rebellious nature of the Aquarius Moon squares Uranus at 11:25 AM EST and joins with Saturn at 1:44 PM EST. You may find that your ideas and beliefs put you between a rock and a hard place. No matter how much you disagree with others, you can still be kind and listen as well as speak. You do not have all the answers. In these times of social discord, this is certainly not a day when you will win someone over to your position and ideas

A positive result when the Moon is in Aquarius is that your emotions do not need to be running the show. Allow your intellect and wild thoughts to take the reigns. At the end of the day, you may need to simply trust your objectivity, agree to disagree, and move on respectfully for now

SEEK THE SILVER LINING

Today begins with the Moon still in objective intellectual Aquarius. Step aside from your emotions and pay attention to the larger story playing out around you. The early hours of the day allow your mind to take center stage with exciting thoughts and ideas.

By the time Venus (retrograde) forms a happy trine to Neptune at 11:03 AM EST objectivity gives way to visions and imagination. Allow your focus to soften as you continue working on navigating a deeper understanding of your personal values. Take an afternoon nap and allow yourself to dream.

At 7:16 PM EST the Moon enters Pisces bringing your emotions into deep, tender, and mystical waters. At 9:57 PM EST, the Moon joins Jupiter, expanding your flights of fancy. Look for a silver lining, release difficulty, and move into sleep with compassion toward yourself and others.

ALLOW COMPASSION TO ARISE

The Moon continues through Pisces today and tomorrow with little to distract us from deep emotions and sensitivity. Pisces is a Mutable Water Sign suggesting tender, fluid, and adaptable emotions. Consider the importance of rest as we come out of the hectic holiday season.

The theme of today and tomorrow will likely revolve around your spiritual or creative path and the development of compassion. If you use Whole Sign Houses look for the house that holds Pisces in your chart to glimpse the area of your life most concerned with this development

You are able to connect with the feelings of others and may need to remind yourself of necessary boundaries. The line between yourself and others is vague and blurred, allowing a deep level of compassion to arise.

Spend time in your art studio or on your meditation cushion. Take time to write or read poetry, dream, listen to music, and dance. Reconnect with the slower more intuitive side of your life.

INTUITION & UNIVERSAL EMOTIONS

You might not want to get out of bed this morning. The Moon continues through Pisces and joins with Neptune at 7:40 AM EST. Allow your intuition or dreams to take over and move your emotions where they will.

It has been a long week of getting back to normal after the holidays. You are ready for the weekend to get here so you can catch up on your rest and face the coming weeks of winter.

Take time today to connect with a universal perspective as you walk in the woods or meditate. When the Moon is in Pisces the boundaries between yourself and others are porous. Make space for deep and compassionate understanding. Dancing, writing poetry, spending time in your art studio, or soaking in a hot bath will support you.

If you find yourself feeling lost, confused, or weepy, allow that to be okay. You are taping into the universal feelings and emotions of sadness and suffering. We all go there and must find comfort in understanding how human we are. This is, after all, where we go to develop compassion.

REWRITE AN OLD STORY

In the wee hours of the morning, the Moon entered Aries bringing the last few dreamy days to an end. Now with the Moon in Aries, the tendency is to move and act quickly without much forethought or consideration of the outcome. When the Moon is in Aries you can easily take assertive or direct action. However, do be careful of any impulses toward impatience or anger.

At 7:47 PM EST Venus (retrograde) conjuncts the Sun bringing us to the halfway point of Venus’ retrograde cycle. The cycle which began on December 19th will come to an end on January 29th. Today’s halfway point of the cycle is an important symbolic turning point.

At this time Venus moves from being the evening star to becoming the morning star. In the months ahead you will need to rise very early to see her sparkle in the morning sky shortly before sunrise.

Consider carefully what you have learned about your values since December 19th. Have you re-engaged with a story from the past that was pivotal in establishing your personal values? You have probably done the most difficult part of this retrograde and are ready to change an old story. In order to do so, you must accept responsibility for your current values and develop values of deep integrity for the future. Rewriting old stories is a great use of this weekend.

ACTIVATE STRENGTH AND DETERMINATION

The week comes to an end with the Moon still in assertive, active Aries. As the Moon travels through this dynamic sign it is time to initiate decisive, independent action. Aries is a Cardinal Fire sign, ruled by Mars which pushes you quickly forward even when it may be better to slow down and look where you are going.

A positive way to engage the Aries Moon is by activating strength and determination in a physical manner. This is an excellent time for solitary sports or activities, where you are competing only with yourself. Competition with others is likely to get overheated with the Moon is in this hot-headed, forceful sign

At 1:12 PM EST, we come to the First Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle that began at the New Moon last Sunday. Consider the metaphorical seed of intention that you planted at that time. What action can you take today to push yourself to the completion of what you want to build in this cycle?

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

The Changing Moon this Week

The Moon sets the emotional tone as she moves through the Zodiac day-to-day. It takes approximately 28 days to traverse the entire Zodiac. Learning to work with this rhythm will help you align with and relax into an easier flow with the Universe. The luminous Moon spends approximately 2 ½ days in each sign before she moves on to the next.
