The Season has indeed shifted as life moves forward. The country we live in is in the midst of a wild upheaval that is reflected in the changing planetary patterns and cycles.
On a personal level, we watch as the world around us moves toward ever shorter days and colder nights. The wool blankets and heavy sweaters are pulled out of storage as we commit to enjoying these lovely autumn days.
The tall windows of my tiny apartment look out over large maple trees. Each tree has its own personality and its own individual timetable for turning red and gold. When the sun shines through those leaves my whole apartment glows with a golden haze. It is lovely and, I know, it is fleeting. These pleasures of the seasons must be enjoyed deeply and released as they pass by before we know it.
Kitty boy Kairos is no longer my sweet and innocent baby kitten. Last weekend Dave and I took him to ‘camp’, far up near Canada on the coast. Kairos has never had so much space to roam and hidden nooks and crannies to explore and investigate. He discovered mice! Hearing a racket in the night I ran down the stairs with my flashlight to see him trotting across the floor with a very tiny mouse in his mouth. From the sounds in the night, I believe he caught two of them although I don’t know if he ate them, played with them and let them go, or hid their tiny bodies. The whole thing made me sad and proud at the same time.
Kairos had not such mixed emotions about the whole thing and came home with a new maturity and self-confidence. Where he used to want to dash under bushes and porches, he now prances before me on his leash for our walks.
I came home with a lot of red and yellow apples to process. I have canned a dozen more pints and have many more to go. I just love fresh applesauce in the middle of winter. I will have plenty once my harvest is fully processed.

The weekend has passed and you must step back into your weekly routines. Perhaps the kids are back in school and you need to get back to your day job. It won’t be easy to do today. At 7:50 PM ET, Mercury enters Libra turning our intellect toward issues of diplomacy and the development of relationships based on equality. Mercury is always happy to find itself in an air sign and here in Libra we expect our conversations to follow a rational and friendly approach. Consider how to improve your skills in diplomacy and negotiation.
You may find that your conversations in your important partnerships are more fair-minded and yet you could also fall into a trap of being indecisive and over-accommodating. The key here is working to make sure you are on truly equal footing with your partner. Remember, love can not and will not thrive except between equals. Have the conversations needed to ensure your relationship is one between equals.

Tuesday brings us a lovely day to settle in and take some practical steps forward. The Moon is in the fixed earth sign of Taurus. This is the sign of grounded stability, a very physical sign that can be as immovable as the earth itself. Taurus asks that we slow down and deliberately set all hurry aside. One foot in front of the other, one step at a time. Always remember that the tortoise wins the race as the hare is so terribly distracted.

CONFUSION OVER BIG IDEAS

Today the Moon continues its path through the stable calm realm of Taurus. On an emotional level, you will be looking for pleasure and the security that comes with stability and beauty. But, there are bigger issues today than the Moon.
In the wee hours of the morning Mars forms a square aspect to Neptune. As a collective and personal statement, this puts our actions into question. There is a lack of clarity about the actions we need to take.
Because Neptune is a generational planet this is a collective story, first. We are confused. We don’t know who or what to believe. Feeling inadequate in the task of understanding the large forces at play, you could fall into depression. Staying engaged with the issues at hand will help. It will help to admit you are overwhelmed and lack clarity about what is happening in the world. Go ahead and admit that you are conflicted. This is a highly confusing influence.
Your energy may be low but it is important to continue forward. Face your confusion and talk about it. Don’t pretend that it is not so in order to agree with those around you. In this state of confusion, it is important that you not lash out at others. Hold your own counsel, don’t buy the conspiracy theories you hear. Wait until the air clears. Things may be far simpler than you surmise them to be.
Because Mars goes retrograde at the end of this month, we will encounter this as an ongoing story. This story will rear its head again in mid-November and in mid-March. If you have personal planets between 24 degrees – 26 degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) this will be quite personal to you.
Another transit that forms today is an opposition from Mercury to Jupiter. This suggests a time when it is important to think objectively and to understand your beliefs. You can become identified with your ideas and with the confusion of Mars square Neptune, it is important to challenge your ideas. Stay steady, listen to others and wait. When you are about to share your big ideas or even your confusion about big ideas ask yourself if it needs to be said. Watch out that your opinions and ideas are not too overblown. Your mind is challenging the very underpinnings of your philosophical understanding.
Get through the day without blowing up any bridges. Listen to others but take everything with a grain of salt. Remember that each of us understands the world from a very different perspective.

With the Moon still in Gemini, the morning will maintain the mental activity and restlessness of the past few days. However, the weekend changes considerably when, shortly after noon, the Moon steps into the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer.
The Cancer Moon has us focused on fulfilling a deep desire for emotional comfort. In this cardinal water sign, we would like nothing more than to give attention to family and domestic concerns. We may only want to spend the weekend at home with loved ones.
