Time passes quickly

I have been living here on the coast of Maine for three months now. After living in Vermont for 60+ years, I suppose it makes sense that it will take a while before it feels like home. I still wake nearly every morning and pinch myself to see if this dream is real. It is. Every single day I am grateful.

This weekend I have come to Vermont to wrap up a few loose ends and visit a few of my favorite folks. There are many people I would like to see while here but there are only so many hours in the day and the blog won’t write itself.

The week begins with the Moon in Libra. This suggests that our emotional needs are supported by the pleasure of our connection to others and the beauty of our environment. Make those two things a focus today. Create beauty around you and place flowers in your sightline. If you are working at a desk put flowers there. If you are at home put flowers on the dining room table and by the bedside. Surround your visual sphere with a beauty that makes your heart sing. This will soften and open your heart.

Bring flowers to a friend or partner for no reason other than love. Make an unexpected date with someone special. Focus on showing up, being present, listening to, and fully connecting with the person or persons by your side. This is a time to seek intellectually diplomatic solutions over practical earth-based ones.

At 8:36 PM ET, the Moon forms a challenging square aspect to Pluto. Watch for potential difficulties in social situations or intimate partnerships this evening.

NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE IN SCORPIO

The Sun has been in Scorpio for two days now and at 3:19 AM ET, the Moon follows into this intense Fixed Water sign. Emotions are deep and in Scorpio, our preference is to go underground and keep those emotions private.

The Moon’s consistent cycle is something we can depend on month by month. Each month we encounter the darkness of the New Moon as we begin a new cycle. A week later we reach the First Quarter phase and a week after that we reach the illumined Full Moon. The Last Quarter Moon comes the following week and we are back to the next New Moon a week later.

Even the most consistent cycle has upset and upheaval built in. Each year there are times when the Sun, Moon, and Earth line up in such a way that we see no light from our perspective. These are the eclipses. Solar eclipses occur at a New Moon when the Moon, Sun, and earth are closely aligned. Lunar eclipses occur at a Full Moon when the earth is directly between the sun and the moon, blocking the light from getting to the Moon.

Eclipses reflect times of massive upheaval, unexpected circumstances, and surprises. Today’s Solar Eclipse is at 2 degrees Scorpio.

If you have personal planets or points in the very early degrees of any fixed sign this will be particularly significant in your life.

There are profound changes required in our lives and our world. What occurs today will bring changes of more magnitude than is at first realized. Pay particular attention to where Scorpio falls in your chart to understand where changes are required.

Eclipses activate the lunar nodes. This signifies a shift in direction, pushing you toward the future. Things can occur at these times that put us on the path we need to tread. Pay attention.

The eclipses are currently in the signs of Taurus and Scorpio. These are steady reliable and passionate Earth and Water signs. Consider the need to structure and stabilize issues of relationship, love, and sexuality. You may need to update your understanding of these areas of your personal life as well as the collective vision.

A Solar Eclipse is a supercharged New Moon. It is understood that profound changes can occur during an Eclipse. There are various theories about the length of time the impact of an eclipse lasts. The only clear agreement is that the impact is more significant and lasts far longer than other New Moons.

Because a new moon is the start of a cycle we think of these times as new beginnings. However, remember that in all cycles, including the lunar cycle, the new beginning is immediately preceded by an ending. One cycle must end in order for a new cycle to begin. My observations have suggested that with a Solar Eclipse the focus is often on the ending rather than the beginning. Consider this in your own life and of course, your mileage may vary.

In a personal consideration of the Solar Eclipse, it is most important to know the house the eclipse falls in on your own chart. It is this area of your life where the impact will occur.

INTENSITY BRINGS POWER TO YOUR VOICE

Today you will continue to be embroiled in the intensity of yesterday’s Solar Eclipse. Pay attention to all issues that trigger a deep internal response over the next few weeks. We are in that special time between eclipses which are the wild card times that move our lives in directions we may not have expected.

At 9:35 AM ET the Moon opposes Uranus and at 11:29 AM she squares Satun. These two planets (Uranus and Saturn) are very closely aligned. The cultural issues are clear. Are you beginning to experience a change in your view of what is happening in the world and the outer cultural realities we are living in? I think folks will being to see a perspective that has not been clear before. I am hopeful here. What didn’t you see coming that is now becoming clear on the horizon?

We have all been stuck in certain positions, how are you beginning to understand a different perspective? Don’t close down the new ideas and perspectives moving in. Our positions don’t mean much if we can’t grapple with what it means to see the other side.

Mercury trine Mars at 11:36 PM EST. Mercury’s impact as a transiting planet is relatively brief. You can expect the influence to last for approximately 24 hours. You may decide to stay up late to focus on a writing project or have a conversation that suddenly seems quite important. If you are already sleeping this gift of courageous speech will wait until tomorrow.

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 6:55 AM ET, moving us into a more positive and optimistic emotional state. Sagittarius is the mutable Fire sign that looks for inspiration, growth, and adventure. We are more adaptable and able to shift direction at this time. The Moon’s movement through Sagittarius provides us with a sense of humor and a desire for adventure. We may feel restless as we contemplate where to find answers to the big life questions of meaning, implications, and significance. The meaning of life is a Sagittarius concern. The good news is that we are likely to feel more philosophically optimistic under this influence. Humor and an expansive vision help us to see the silver lining in even the most difficult situations.

With the Moon in Sagittarius, we focus on higher ideals that we learn through travel and study. Exploring philosophical understanding settles our anxiety at this time. We seek to expand optimism and adaptability. Humor and an expansive vision help us to see the silver lining in even the most challenging situations.

Jupiter (ruler of both Pisces and Sagittarius) retreats back into Pisces at 1:09 AM. It will remain in Pisces until re-entering Aries on December 20th. Jupiter expands our lives through experiences, knowledge, personal growth, and understanding. Jupiter represents abundance, optimism, and expansion.

Jupiter was in Pisces between the Spring of 2021 and May 2022 when it entered Aries. Now, in retrograde motion, it heads back into Pisces to finish up a task in that area of your life. At 9:21 AM ET the Moon leaves Sagittarius aside to enter Capricorn. This is serious business. Your emotions become aligned with practical considerations and solitary ambitions. As the Moon passes through Capricorn the prevailing mood is cautious, determined, and prudent.
 
Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign, ruled by Saturn and represented by the solitary mountain goat. This is a sensible hard-working sign that keeps us focused on personal ambition, mature efforts, and hard work.
 
At 3:22 PM ET Mercury enters Scorpio after having been in Libra since October 10th. Mercury is the planet of our thinking, communications, and how we move through the world day to day. MARS RETROGRADE – EXAMINE YOUR IDEAS OF MASCULINITY

The moon continues through serious Capricorn today. Our emotional focus remains on practical issues, goals, and necessary plans. With the Moon in this Cardinal Earth sign, we are aware of the reality of personal responsibility. Your emotions direct you toward a practical future.

While the Moon is in Capricorn we are not interested in playfulness or fun and will do whatever is necessary to avoid drama or emotional outbursts. Our focus is on personal singular accomplishment, keeping to the point, and making serious progress. Business aspirations may call to you. It is time to get to work and stop procrastinating. This is not a time for group projects, but a time for solitary efforts.

At 9:26 AM ET Mars stations retrograde. This happens approximately even 2 years. Jennie and I will be posting a video on Youtube about this over the course of the coming week. Mars retrogrades the least of all the planets so this is not a common phenomenon. While Mars is retrograde is a time to take stock of how we use our directive energies.

Ask yourself: How do I use my energy? How do I manage my energy levels? How are my sexual energy and health? What am I passionate about? How am I using masculine qualities in my life? Am I holding my own integrity in these issues?

As a culture, this is a time to seriously rethink our approach to all things masculine. I am not talking about men personally but about the energies that have been attributed to men and labeled ‘masculine’. Are you in touch with your masculinity and do you hold that energy with fairness and kindness toward others?

The conversations about gender and gender roles will increase over the coming months. Mars will remain retrograde unit January 12th. Mars retrograde begins at 25 degrees Gemini and turns direct at 8 degrees Gemini. If you have personal planets or points between 8 – 25 degrees of any mutable sign this will be a very personal contemplation for you. The mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.
