Moving Through the First Week of Cancer Season: June 22 – June 28, 2026

Stonehenge at Twilight by William Turner (Oxford), ca. 1840

If you step outside this week and look toward the horizon, you will notice that the light has changed. It is subtle but unmistakable. The long bright reach of late Gemini is behind us. The Sun entered Cancer at the Solstice on Sunday.

While the Sun moves through Cancer, our attention turns toward the people and places we want to protect and toward what we call home. Cancer is a cardinal sign, and it initiates through care rather than conquest.

Monday, June 22, 2026: Moon in Libra

The Moon is in Libra, and the emotional need today is for balance and connection. When the Moon is in Libra, we want an honest way of relating with equity. You may feel restless when things are off-kilter and more aware than usual of how people are treating each other and you.

As the Sun moves through the first days of Cancer season, we are finding our footing in this new emotional register. With the Moon in Libra, we are offered a helpful counterpoint today. Cancer can turn inward and protective, and Libra keeps the relational field in view. Today you can tend what is yours while staying present to the people who matter to you.

The Sun will be in Cancer until July 22nd. During the month ahead, our attention turns toward what we want to protect and who needs our care. This is also a time that shows us where we have been giving from an empty cup. Notice all the places where you need to show up to nurture and care for yourself.

  • Where in your life do you feel the most out of balance right now, and what one thing would bring it back toward center?
  • Is there a conversation you have been avoiding that the Libra Moon is nudging you toward today?

Tuesday, June 23, 2026: Moon in Libra

The Moon remains in Libra today, keeping our emotional needs in the territory of fairness and connection. On this second day with the Libra Moon, we may see clearly where the balance we desire is currently absent. You may notice more clearly what is not working in a relationship or situation with another person.

Libra is an air sign, and when the Moon is in Libra, we can easily get stuck in our thoughts about our feelings with very little emotions at all. That can be useful when you need perspective. It can also be a way of keeping emotion at a careful distance. Notice if you are trying to see both sides of a situation as a way to understand it, or as a way not making a decision. When the Moon is in Libra, we can remain undecided much longer than is helpful.

Mercury is in its shadow phase now, moving toward its retrograde station on June 29th at 26 degrees Cancer. Conversations that feel unresolved or agreements that feel incomplete are to be expected this week. You will have the opportunity to revisit them once Mercury is retrograde. Anchor things as clearly as you can before the retrograde and be prepared to work with them further afterward.

  • Where does seeing both sides of a situation keep you from choosing your own position? What is your actual position?
  • What conversations or agreements need as much clarification as possible before June 29th?
  • Who in your life can you give a direct response to rather than hiding behind what is more diplomatic?

Wednesday, June 24, 2026: Moon in Scorpio

The Moon enters Scorpio at 2:43 am EDT. The emotional atmosphere will be noticeably different from the past two days. When the Moon is in Scorpio, our emotional needs turn toward depth and a search for honesty; we are not interested in remaining on the surface of things. Scorpio is the fixed water sign and always pulls our attention to what is hidden or unspoken. You may notice a heightened sensitivity and a lower tolerance for anything that feels performative or dishonest. Allow yourself to be pulled into meaningful engagements rather than pleasant exchanges.

Tomorrow brings two substantial transits, offering today as an opportunity to quiet your system. When the Moon is in Scorpio, we can go more deeply into inner work. This is a good day for time alone or for deep conversations with those you trust.

  • What do you most need to be honest with yourself about today?
  • What are you aware of in a relationship or situation that you are not yet ready to speak of directly?
  • Where have you been choosing a pleasant exchange over a more difficult but honest one, and with whom?

Thursday, June 25, 2026: Moon in Scorpio | Venus Trine Saturn | Sun Square Neptune

This is the most complex and demanding day of the week. The Moon is still in Scorpio, and its pull toward depth and honesty gives us the emotional tenacity to meet this interesting day.

The morning begins with Venus in Leo forming a trine aspect to Saturn at 8:01 am EDT. Venus has been in Leo since June 13, and while she passes through this fixed fire sign, our values resonate with warmth and bold generosity. Saturn asks that we stabilize those values and commit to them over time. A trine aspect between Venus and Saturn is a confirmation. What has been building in a relationship or creative commitment can be recognized today for what it actually is. This is a transit of honest reckoning with what has been earned through consistent effort. The integrity of your values and relationships, or the lack of it, will be clear today. Saturn and Venus began their current cycle on March 6, 2026. Whatever seed you planted then, you can see how it has grown.

At 6:38 pm EDT, the Sun in Cancer forms a square to Neptune. While the Sun moves through Cancer, we seek clarity about what to protect and who belongs in our innermost circle. Neptune blurs that clarity. A square between them creates pressure that may feel confusing. You may feel uncertain about a situation you thought you understood, or discover that you have been seeing something the way you wanted it to be rather than the way it is. Idealization and avoidance are Neptune’s territory, and the Sun in Cancer squaring Neptune makes those tendencies visible and important not to avoid.

These two transits together create an interesting tension. The Venus-Saturn trine offers clarity and solidity. The Sun-Neptune square offers confusion and longing. You are likely to experience both today. Allow Saturn to anchor you while you look honestly at what Neptune is obscuring.

  • What in a relationship or creative endeavor has proven itself over time?
  • What would be the cost and the gift of letting go of an illusion you have about a person or situation in your life?
  • Where are you avoiding something about a relationship because the illusion is more comfortable?

Friday, June 26, 2026: Moon Enters Sagittarius

The Moon is in Scorpio through the early afternoon, before entering Sagittarius at 2:40 pm EDT. Our emotional needs shift from Scorpio’s demand for depth and truth to something larger and more outward-looking.  When the Moon is in Sagittarius, we seek meaning. We want to understand things in a broader context, to feel that our lives have direction and purpose. This may feel like restlessness if, in some aspect of your life, you are feeling confined.  Today you seek an open space of enthusiasm and a view of where you are headed.

After yesterday’s intensity, this offers relief. It asks you to look skyward, to take in the full landscape and the cosmos. Check in with your body; if you feel heavy, get outdoors to stretch and move. The emotions can expand most easily when we are physically in motion.

  • Can you trust that your life has direction, even if it is not yet clear?
  • Where in your life do you feel confined, and how can you take more freedom today?
  • What is the best way for you to move your body today to expand your vision?

Saturday, June 27, 2026: Moon in Sagittarius

The Moon continues through Sagittarius today, and we are deep in the waxing phase of the cycle that began with the Gemini New Moon on June 14th. The seed planted then has been growing steadily, and as we approach its fullness now, we feel it building.

When the Moon is in Sagittarius, we want experience that feels expansive: travel, study, time outdoors, conversation with people who interest us. Today favors any activity that lets you feel the scope of your life rather than just its daily details.

The Full Moon arrives Monday in Capricorn, opposite the Sun in Cancer. That lunation will ask you to weigh your private life against your public one. Saturday is a good day to start noticing which side of that line has had more of your attention lately.

  • What have you been building steadily this month that you are close to seeing come to fullness?
  • Where has your attention moved between your inner and outer world, and does the balance feel right?

Sunday, June 28, 2026: Moon in Sagittarius | Mars Sextile Jupiter | Mars Enters Gemini

In the wee hours of the morning, Mars, in the final degrees of Taurus, forms a sextile to Jupiter. This is Mars’s last act before leaving Taurus. The sextile to Jupiter is generous and expansive. When Mars is in Taurus, our actions ask for patience and physical effort. This contact with Jupiter opens a door before that chapter closes. You may wake today with a sense of momentum or possibility that was not there yesterday. If an opportunity presents itself in an area where you have been patient and determined, pay attention.

At 3:29 pm EDT, Mars enters Gemini, and the quality of action and forward motion in your life shifts noticeably. Mars has been in Taurus since May 18th, working slowly and with considerable determination. Now in Gemini, Mars will quickly pick up speed. It wants to talk and to pursue multiple threads at once. This is not the sustained, single-pointed effort of Mars in Taurus. This is the energy of quick thinking and the willingness to change direction when new information arrives. Mars will be in Gemini until August 11th.

The Moon in Sagittarius today holds all of this with a certain philosophical ease. When the Moon is in Sagittarius, we are better able to understand that change is simply the nature of things.

  • What has the patient, steady effort of the past several weeks produced?
  • Where in your life is it time to move faster and pursue more than one thread at once, rather than staying single-pointed?
  • What door is opening for you today in an area where you have already been doing the work?
