RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT COMES NEXT: Introduction to the Week

Ruins, St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall, Benjamin Johnson, ca. 1858
The week begins lightly enough with the Moon moving through Gemini, a placement that favors ease of conversation and the gathering of information. Early in the week, ideas move quickly, and you may notice your attention shifting from one subject to another.
Midweek brings a noticeable shift as the Sun joins up with Saturn. This encounter tends to narrow our field of vision and ask a simple question: what requires my effort now? Saturn asks for accountability. With Mercury now direct (all planets are now direct), something that has felt uncertain may now lie in stark clarity.
This week asks that we look clearly at our responsibilities and face the effort ahead. Information arrives first. By the end of the week, you may find yourself ready to act with greater clarity about something important that you now see must be done.
The emotional tone of the week follows the Moon from Gemini into Cancer, then into Leo before finishing the week in Virgo. What begins as curiosity turns toward deep sensitivity, then toward confidence and self-expression, and finally toward careful attention to practical details.
OPENING CONVERSATION: Monday, March 23, 2026
At 4:18 am EDT, the Moon moved into Gemini, bringing your attention to conversations and the exchange of ideas. Pay attention to what is being said and what is being asked by you and others. Something in a conversation may shift your thinking, allowing you to see an important new perspective. When the Moon is in Gemini, you think about and consider your emotions more than you actually feel them. The first step in gaining clarity about emotional states comes through the process of gathering information.
Don’t spend the day alone; reach out to engage in conversations. Follow an idea that catches your interest and see where it may lead you. Don’t rush anything, but keep your mind open to ideas that you encounter.
By Wednesday, your attention will shift toward more serious issues of effort and responsibility. For today, enjoy gathering information and learning in a playful, open manner.
- What topic of conversation engages your interest today?
- Who can you learn something from today?
- What have you heard or noticed recently that you may want to pay more attention to?
GATHERING THE PIECES: Tuesday, March 24, 2026
With the Moon still in Gemini, the gathering and exploration of ideas continues. Conversations you have today or something you heard yesterday may bring more clarity to something you have been grappling with. You may find yourself discovering how various ideas connect.
Allow your interests to develop as you follow the patterns set before you. A brief exchange or a passing comment may open a line of thought worth following. Stay with the process of learning and notice how pieces begin to come together on their own.
Tomorrow morning, the Sun meets Saturn in Aries suggests a significant shift in your attention. Your thoughts and observations during these first two days of the week will prompt action and more serious consideration.
- What thoughts from yesterday are still active in your mind?
- What is developing through those thoughts and conversations?
- Where do you feel pulled to follow a line of thought further?
DETERMINATION & COMMITMENT: Wednesday, March 25, 2026
At 4:55 am EDT, the Sun conjoins Saturn in Aries. This is the beginning of an important cycle. Conjunctions always begin a cycle, and this one is planting seeds for the year ahead. What has been building reaches a point of initiation. The cycle that began last March comes to a close, and a new one begins here. Pay attention to the house that holds Aries in your natal chart, as this is where seeds are being planted.
The Sun brings your attention and your will, while Saturn brings effort and responsibility. Together, in Aries, this meeting asks for a clear beginning that you take responsibility for. You do not need to rush, but there is no room for hesitation in avoidance. You are setting something in motion that will develop over time; take that seriously.
The last time the Sun and Saturn met in Aries was in 1997. You may find it useful to think back to that period. What was beginning then? What required effort, maturity, or a change in how you approached your life? Particularly, the area of your life that is represented by the house that holds Aries in your natal chart. This is not a repetition of that time, but there may be a thread worth noticing. The cycle that began in 1997 is now over. You have the opportunity to plant new seeds for growth in this area of your life.
At 2:16 pm EDT, the Sun forms a sextile to Pluto. Whatever seeds you are planting in the Aries part of your chart are supported with an ability to focus and move past distractions or surface concerns. You can plant those seeds with confidence.
Earlier in the morning, at 6:32 am EDT, the Moon enters Cancer, bringing your attention to your inner life, as well as your home and family. At 3:17 pm EDT, the First Quarter Moon in Cancer marks a turning point in the lunar cycle. This phase asks for action; consider what began at the New Moon (on March 18th) that requires a response. Look for where pressure shows you where action is needed.
- What are you ready to begin that will require your sustained effort over the coming year?
- What was beginning for you around 1997, and is there anything from that time that helps you understand what is being asked of you now?
- What action today would show that you are taking this new beginning seriously?
TENDING SENSITIVITY: Thursday, March 26, 2026
With the Moon still in Cancer, your attention stays close to home and to those you want to protect. After yesterday’s effort and decision-making, today brings you back to your own emotional center. Notice how your body holds your deepest sensitivities and how you respond to those you love.
At 6:44 pm EDT, Venus conjoins Chiron in Aries. Chiron is an asteroid, not a planet. It points to an old wound that asks to be worked with through understanding and acceptance. When Venus meets Chiron, that awareness often comes through core relationships or personal values. Pay attention to your reactions and give yourself and others as much patience and grace as you are able.
If you experience grief or anger that feels out of place, consider that it may be a true case of delayed grief from something that you put off grieving months or even years ago. Stay with any sadness or grief you notice. It is pointing to something that needs more attention than you have been giving it.
- Where has something been left unresolved that is asking for your attention?
- What does anger show you that sadness does not, and what does sadness show you that anger does not?
- Where in a relationship do you feel a need to protect yourself, and how do you usually respond to that feeling?
STEPPING INTO VIEW: Friday, March 27, 2026
At 10:10 am EDT, the Moon enters Leo. This is a notable shift, after the past several days of focus on protection and care of others, this is a natural movement outward. You may feel more inclined to speak up and take up space in a way that has not felt as available earlier in the week.
When the Moon is in Leo, personal self-expression matters as you want to be acknowledged. This does not necessarily require a grand gesture, although Leo does like them! There is a tendency to look for recognition and appreciation from others today. If you can’t get what you need from others today, do so for yourself. I think I’ll take myself out to dinner and bring myself flowers. Offer yourself and others all the warmth of the Sun. That is the gift of Leo.
- How do you respond when you feel overlooked or unappreciated?
- Where are you waiting for acknowledgment from someone else that you could offer to yourself?
- What would it look like to express yourself today without holding back or second-guessing?
COMMITMENT TO WHAT IS IN MOTION: Saturday, March 28, 2026
The Moon continues through Leo today, keeping you alert and engaged with others. There is a natural inclination to participate, to respond, and to stay involved in what is happening around you. You may find it easier to speak up or to follow what holds your interest without hesitation.
At 6:10 pm EDT, Saturn forms a sextile to Pluto. This is a supportive contact between two planets that work together over long periods of time. Their cycle began at the start of 2020, when we were all required to make changes we had not planned for. Seeds that were planted under pressure at that time have continued to develop in the years since.
This transit offers an opportunity to recognize what has taken root for you personally. You may see clearly now what has held up from that time and what is now ready for the next stage of development. This asks that you work with what is already in motion and make a conscious choice to continue. The opportunity here is practical. A door opens because of the effort you have already made. A situation asks for follow-through. Something that has felt uncertain asks to be taken seriously.
- What began for you at the start of 2020 that needs your renewed commitment now?
- Where do you see the results of the effort you have already invested?
- What opportunity is being presented that asks for your continued commitment?
EXPRESSION TO ORDER: Sunday, March 29, 2026
The Moon remains in Leo for most of the day before entering Virgo at 3:33 pm EDT. The morning carries the lingering warmth and enthusiasm of Leo, making it easy to stay engaged with others and to enjoy what is in front of you. There is a natural inclination to connect and seek shared pleasures.
When the Moon moves into Virgo later in the afternoon, it is time to turn toward focus. Notice what requires careful adjustments and what can be improved. When the Moon is in Virgo, we notice what is out of place and how to bring things into better order. The afternoon and evening are perfect for taking care of tasks and making plans that will smooth the week ahead.
- What has felt satisfying or enjoyable today?
- What now needs your focus before the day is done?
- What one task, if completed, would give you a sense of order going into the week?
