The week opens in the dark of the moon, in the quiet that belongs to endings and release. By Saturday, a Taurus New Moon arrives, beginning something new, something worth tending for the long haul. By Sunday, Mercury enters Gemini and meets Uranus, and the mind wakes up in a way that will carry into the weeks ahead. This is a week that moves from stillness to planting to spark. Let it unfold at its own pace.

Monday, May 11, 2026: Moon in Pisces
The week begins as we are moving into the dark of the moon. The Last Quarter has passed, the Taurus New Moon is still days away, and we find ourselves, once again, in that quiet gap between. The cycle is finishing what it started at the Aries New Moon on April 17th. The Pisces Moon fits this phase easily; it is the last sign of the zodiac, and it is oriented toward dissolution and endings. On a day when the lunar cycle itself is winding down, the Moon in Pisces fits right in.
The emotional need of the Pisces Moon is to release the boundaries of ordinary life and rest in something beyond the self. In practical terms, this looks like needing more simplicity and quiet than usual. The Taurus New Moon on Saturday will ask you to identify what you want to build and what is worth your sustained effort and care. That question requires a clear head and an honest heart. Today is part of how you get there. The dark of the moon is a time to release and prepare. If unexpected or unresolved emotions arrise today, allow them to surface and dissipate. It should not be unexpected today.
- What is ready to be released from the cycle that began on April 17?
- How can you best care for and restore yourself today?
Tuesday, May 12, 2026: Moon in Pisces enters Aries
We continue through the darkest week of the lunar cycle today with the Moon still in Pisces. On an emotional level, we are in much the same place as yesterday. Keep things simple, try to rest, seek out water, solitude, and music. Stay close to what restores you.
At 8:03 pm EDT, the Moon moves into Aries. It is worth paying attention to what she is moving toward. Neptune, Saturn, Mars, and Chiron are all in Aries, and the Moon will encounter each of them over the coming days. Tonight she stands on that threshold, considering where those conversations may lead. Pay attention to any dreams you have; they may hold a clue.
- Where in your life do you need to slow down before moving forward?
- What does rest look like for you today?
- How can you prepare for more emotional heat in the days ahead?
Wednesday, May 13, 2026: Moon in Aries | Mercury Sextile Jupiter | Moon Conjunct Saturn
When Mercury forms a sextile aspect to Jupiter in the wee hours of the morning, its impact will last all day. This offers an opportunity to expand your ideas and ability to articulate them. You may experience this as a general sense that things can be figured out and explained. It is a good day for conversations, planning, or writing. If you have been putting off talking about something significant, today may offer the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
The Moon remains in Aries throughout the day. The emotional atmosphere is nearly unrecognizable from the past few days. While the Moon was in Pisces, we needed rest and renewal; now, with the Moon in Aries, our emotions tell us it is time to take deliberate action. This energy does not match the lunar cycle the way the Moon in Pisces did. Keep that in mind and pay attention to the appropriateness of the actions you want to take.
At 2:10 pm, the Moon conjoins Saturn for its monthly conversation. Saturn demands practical honesty and structure. When the Moon and Saturn come together, the emotional tone sobers. The expansiveness of the morning may give way to something more somber and clear-eyed in the afternoon. The opportunity that Mercury and Jupiter offered this morning, Saturn helps you look at with more realistic clarity.
- What idea or plan has been waiting to get your full attention?
- Where is honest self-assessment needed?
- What does it feel like when high expectations and enthusiasm meet reality?
Friday, May 15, 2026: Moon in Taurus | Moon Square Pluto
The Moon continues through Taurus today, moving toward tomorrow’s New Moon. The emotional need of the Taurus Moon is simple and physical. Look for the comfort of beauty and the pleasure of doing ordinary things slowly and well. This is a good day to be in your body and move through your environment with care and attention.
At 7:25 am EDT, the Moon squares Pluto. A power dynamic may surface this morning, or your emotions may feel much larger than the circumstances warrant. It will pass. Return your attention to what Taurus asks for. Enjoy the sensual experience of living in a body, and rest as you prepare for the new cycle that tomorrow’s New Moon brings. What small pleasure or act of care can you give yourself today as this cycle completes?
- If something difficult occurs this morning, does it tell you something about the seed you want to plant tomorrow?
- What pleasures will you give yourself today?
Saturday, May 16, 2026: Taurus New Moon 4:01 pm EDT | Mars Conjunct Chiron | Moon Enters Gemini
Begin the day slowly and with deliberation, as we are still in the dark of the Taurus Moon. The Taurus New Moon, which occurs at 4:01 pm EDT, begins a new lunar cycle. Taurus is the sign of physical growth itself and understands that real growth takes time and patience. Each New Moon is a time to plant a metaphorical seed of growth. The seed you plant today begins two separate cycles, each with its own arc and its own illumination. The first illumination comes in two weeks at the Sagittarius Full Moon on May 31st. What you initiate today will begin to show itself then, in the expansive, truth-seeking light of Sagittarius. That Full Moon will ask what your Taurus intentions mean in the larger context of your life and beliefs.
The longer cycle’s illumination comes six months from now at the Taurus Full Moon on October 26th. That is when what you planted today reaches its ultimate fullness. Six months is enough time for something real to grow, and Taurus trusts the process of slow, steady accumulation and growth. What you tend with consistency between now and October will be visible then in a way you are unable to see today.
To work with this New Moon personally, look to the house in your natal chart that holds Taurus. That is the area of life where this seed needs to be planted. Whatever house holds Taurus for you, that is where the next six months of growth are rooted. Taurus rules what we value and what we are willing to care for over time.
At 3:34 pm, Mars meets Chiron in Aries, beginning a new two-year cycle. Mars is the planet of action, willpower, and anger. Chiron is where we carry old wounds. Together, they trace a cycle regarding wounds of aggression, violence, and the damage that unchecked selfishness leaves behind. The previous cycle began in late May 2024 (look up what happened in the news cycle at that time). That was a time most of us remember as unusually charged with issues of damage and aggression. What was set in motion then has run its course. This new cycle is an opportunity to look at how these issues are expressed in your life and work with what needs your attention. Again, look to the house that holds Aries for personal clues.
At 10:23 pm EDT, the Moon enters Gemini, and the day closes on a lighter note.
- What do you want to build or establish in the weeks ahead?
- What is worth your sustained effort?
- Where has old pain left you hesitant to reach for something you dearly want?
Sunday, May 17, 2026: Moon in Gemini | Mercury Enters Gemini | Mercury Conjunct Uranus
The Moon continues through Gemini today, and our emotional needs turn to conversations and connections. You can expect ideas to move quickly from topic to topic and person to person. There is a restlessness and curiosity to this Moon that is friendly and lighthearted.
At 6:26 am EDT, Mercury enters Gemini, its home sign, and thinking sharpens immediately. Mercury in Gemini processes information quickly, making connections and engaging in conversations. At 8:10 pm EDT, Mercury meets Uranus, and what was already quick becomes downright electric. Keep your eyes open for unexpected information or unusual surprises that just suddenly come to mind. You may suddenly see something that changes your thinking entirely. Pay attention to anything or anyone who arrives unexpectedly over the next day or two.
On a personal level, look to the house in your natal chart that holds Gemini. That is where this awakening will probably arrive and where your thinking is being invited to move in a new direction. Your mind is waking up, your attention is being called.
- Where in your life have you been thinking too slowly or carefully?
- Are you ready to wake up to a new direction in the house that holds Gemini in your natal chart?
- Pay attention to whatever arrives over the next day or two.
- What would you do differently if you trusted where your mind wants to go?
Working with Laurie has given me clarity, confirmation of my intuition, and a better understanding of my past. In Laurie’s work I find that astrology opens doors that most of us do not even realize are there. I leave our consultations with a wider perspective and a clearer sense of how to move forward. – Mary H. Vermont March 2026
Working with Laurie over time continues to bring real clarity to my life. During our conversations I recognize patterns I had sensed before but never fully trusted. Seeing those patterns reflected in my chart helps me understand that they are real and worth paying attention to.
I leave our meetings feeling excited and optimistic about where I am in life, even knowing there is work to be done. Laurie explains things clearly and keeps the conversation focused on what is truly happening in my own life. I especially value how she connects the present moment with earlier periods of my life so I can see the larger pattern. – SJ. Montana – April 2026
