Daily Forecast – Astrology for Each Day of The Week Ahead

Indian Shops, Gay Head, Massachusetts by Lois Mailou Jones, ca. 1940

This forecast covers the week of May 4 through May 10, 2026. Each day’s forecast lists the planetary events in the header.

The most significant event of this week is Pluto stationing retrograde on Wednesday, at 5 degrees Aquarius. When Pluto stations, power dynamics shift at a level beneath our view. Pressure that has been moving where we can see it turns inward, where it is unseen. The week before and after a Pluto station tends to carry that quality, whether we are conscious of it or not.

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate. – Carl Jung

Although you may not be tracking the movement of Pluto, look at the house that holds Aquarius in your natal chart and consider what pressure in that area of your life needs to be brought into your full awareness.

Monday, May 4, 2026: Moon in Sagittarius Mars Square Jupiter

We begin the week with the Sagittarius Moon waning through mutable fire. Emotionally, you may find yourself wanting room to breathe and move freely today. Obligations that feel confining will be harder to tolerate than usual. Allow yourself as much open space and freedom as you possibly can.

At 10:06 pm EDT, Mars in Aries forms its closing square transit to Jupiter. Mars in Aries operates without hesitation, while Jupiter in Cancer expands through care and protection. The cycle between them began in August 2024. This cycle is about taking action in line with your beliefs. The closing square brings that into sharp focus. You can see what it has cost you and what it has actually produced. Consider what you are preparing to release and clear away in anticipation of what comes next. Mars and Jupiter began this cycle in Gemini in August 2024, so look to the house that holds Gemini in your natal chart to understand what this story is about for you.

  • What did you begin in August 2024 in the service of something you believe in?
  • Where are you applying more force or ambition than you need to?
  • Are you trying to expand something beyond what the situation can actually support?

Tuesday, May 5, 2026: Moon in Sagittarius, Enters Capricorn | Mercury Square Pluto

The Moon is still in Sagittarius for much of today. We may feel restless, needing freedom and forward movement. Look for something that excites you because it reflects your deepest beliefs and understanding. You may find yourself making plans and looking to the future. However, at 3:06 pm, the Moon enters Capricorn, and the shift is noticeable. Set that planning aside, as with the Moon now in Capricorn, the emotional need turns toward something more solid and reality-based.

At 6:06 pm, Mercury, newly stabilized in Taurus, forms an opening square to Pluto in Aquarius. The cycle between them is a cycle of empowering your voice or ideas. This cycle began in late January. The opening square today is the first major test of what was set in motion then, the point where what has been developing slowly in your thinking meets internal or external resistance for the first time.

While in Taurus, Mercury thinks carefully, which is one of its strengths; it can also keep the mind from thinking about something that is calling for attention. Pluto operates as a power that cannot be unseen. When these two planets meet in a square, the mind is pressed toward something it has been avoiding. If there is something you have been almost thinking about since January, today is when you are more likely to finish the thought.

  • What has been developing in your thinking since late January that is now meeting its first real test?
  • Where has your thinking been careful in a way that has kept you from going further?
  • What becomes available when you are willing to think something all the way through?

Wednesday, May 6, 2026: Pluto Stations Retrograde | Moon in Capricorn

Today’s Capricorn Moon needs solid ground. It wants competence and a clear sense of reality. This morning, the Moon squares Saturn, and the day carries extra weight. What you want to accomplish may feel ambitious, and Saturn will question if your ambition is built on something that can sustain it.

Pluto stations retrograde at 5 degrees Aquarius at 11:34 am EDT, ending the streak of no planets in retrograde. When Pluto stations, power shifts on some deep level. Pressure turns inward. In Aquarius, Pluto is deeply involved in how power moves through systems and communities, and what needs to be fundamentally transformed in the way we participate and are impacted in collective life. Those issues go deeper during this retrograde.

To understand where this impacts you personally, look to the house that holds Aquarius in your natal chart. That is where Pluto’s retrograde will do its most specific work in your life. And if you have planets between 3 and 6 degrees of any fixed sign, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, this station will be particularly powerful for you. Pluto empowers; to do so, it must first destroy what is in the way of the transformation necessary.

  • When the Moon squared Saturn this morning, what felt heavier or more resistant than you expected?
  • What house holds Aquarius in your natal chart, and what has been moving forward in that area since October?
  • If you have planets in the early degrees of a fixed sign, what has Pluto already been asking of you?

Thursday, May 7, 2026 | Moon in Capricorn

The Moon is in Capricorn today, and the emotional need is for structure and competence. Distractions feel costly. What you want at the end of the day is to have done something that mattered.

At 10:18 am EDT, the Moon squares Mars, and the impulse to act comes in sharply. That drive can feel frustrated, or you may find yourself irritable when you push against something that isn’t ready to move. Capricorn wants to build carefully and with purpose. Mars in Aries wants to move now. It is worth noticing where those two are pulling against each other, and whether the urgency you feel is actually serving what you are trying to build.

  • What would it look like to act with both speed and purpose rather than choosing one over the other?
  • What are you trying to build right now that requires more patience than you are giving it?

Friday, May 8, 2026: Moon in Aquarius | Moon Conjunct Pluto

The Moon enters Aquarius at 3:27 am EDT and spends the day moving through a remarkable sequence of aspects to the outer planets and Saturn. When the Moon is in Aquarius, we need room for innovative thinking and to feel part of something larger than our personal concerns. The emotional tone is cooler and more detached than yesterday, allowing for a greater perspective on where we stand.

Most of us will be asleep when the Moon trines Uranus in the early hours, but a sense of openness and unexpected perception carries into the day. Later in the morning, the Moon sextiles Neptune, softening our receptivity. At 2:22 pm EDT, the Moon reaches Pluto, freshly retrograde at 5 degrees Aquarius. This may bring what is buried closer to the surface, or result in your feelings being larger and more consequential than expected. By evening, the Moon sextiles Saturn, and the evening settles your nerves.

  • What have you been feeling that you have not yet let yourself look at directly?
  • Where in your life are you thinking too personally to see clearly?
  • What would change if you brought the same detachment to your own situation that you easily offer to others?

Saturday, May 9, 2026: Moon in Aquarius | Last Quarter Moon

The Moon remains in Aquarius all day and reaches its last quarter phase at 5:10 pm EDT. The last quarter is not an ending. It is the point in the cycle where we begin to let go of what the cycle has produced, clearing the way for what comes next. The next new moon arrives in Taurus on May 16th.

This particular cycle began with the Aries New Moon on April 17th. Whatever you set in motion, it has now had time to show you what it actually is. The last quarter asks you to be honest about that. Not about what you hoped it would become, but about what it is.

When the Moon is in Aquarius, we need some distance from our own feelings to think clearly. That distance is objectivity. It is the ability to step back far enough to see the whole picture rather than just the part that hurts or disappoints. The Aquarius Moon is well-suited to what this moment in the cycle calls for.

  • Looking back to April 17th, what did you set in motion that has now run its course?
  • Where are you still holding on to what you hoped something would become rather than what it actually is?
  • What are you ready to release so the next cycle can begin with a clean slate?
